02.What are the requirements for Nationals who hold a Bachelors’ Degree to register with the Engineers Registration Board?

i. Have a Bachelor's degree in any Engineering Discipline.
ii. Be employed in an Engineering function. afY
iii. Be a Corporate member of a recognized Engineering Institution.
iv. You must have attained Twenty-Five years of age.
v. You must have a practical experience of four years after graduation (Two Years of Pupilage Training and Two Years-Post Pupilage Training).

03.Is it possible to register with a Diploma in Engineering?

Diploma Holders are registered as Registered Technicians or Technologists. The Board finalised guidelines and framework for registration and the process is ongoing.

Requirements for Nationals who hold a Diploma to register with the Engineers Registration Board

i. Have a Higher Technical Diploma, Ordinary Diploma or Licence of a University or School of Engineering recognized, for the time being, by the Board as furnishing a sufficient guarantee of adequate academic knowledge in engineering.
ii. You must have attained Twenty-Three years of age.
iii.Be employed in an Engineering function.
iv. Membership with a recognized Engineering Institution is an added advantage.

However, one qualifies to register as a Registered Engineer (R.Eng.), if he/she is a holder of a Bachelors’ Degree in engineering.

04.How much is the Registration process for Nationals?

05.Does the Board offer jobs for any Engineering field?

The Engineers Registration Board is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. However, ERB currently does not offer jobs for any engineering fields as it is a regulatory body.

06.Why should I register?

i. "Registration" as a regulatory function, has a Quality Assurance mechanism inherent in its processes to pass out professionally competent specialists into the engineering service.
ii. It improves engineering services through excellence and lessen the risk of incompetent masqueraders in the profession.
iii. Promotes professional accountability and portrays the good image of engineers and their profession.
iv. Organizations offering engineering services have a responsibility to protect the public by honoring their role in the enforcement of the regulatory requirements for the practice of engineering.
v. Being registered demonstrates that you are internationally competitive.

07.What are the benefits of becoming a Registered Engineer/Technician / Technologist?

08.Which Engineering fields/professions qualify for Registration?

All fields are registrable as long as one holds a Bachelors’ Degree or Diploma in any Engineering Field. E.g. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Agricultural, Chemical, Mining, Aerospace, Automotive, Petroleum, Marine, Telecommunication, Biomedical, Computer / Software, Materials, Water Resources, etc.
