Eng. Peter Balimunsi

BSc (Eng), MSc, MDevtS, Dip Econ, MUIPE, REng.

An engineer, with training, experience, and interest in socio-economic development. I am an electrical engineer with extensive experience in management of engineering projects, general management of organisations and institutions, maintenance management, performance improvement programmes, institutional development, investment planning and management, multi-donor programme coordination, stakeholder management, and teaching.

I have a track record of successful implementation of complex infrastructural development projects delivered to high technical standards especially in water and sanitation involving water treatment plants, storage facilities, electro-mechanical equipment and plant, and reticulation networks.

I also have knowledge of procurement and financial procedures for Government and international development agencies. I have held positions of responsibility in both the public and private sector. I am a Past president of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers and a member of the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda.

Education Background:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Makerere University in Uganda
  • Masters in Development Studies from University College Dublin- Ireland
  • Master of Science in Development Finance from University of London in UK
  • Diploma in Economics from University of London in UK
  • Skills development courses: Project cycle management, operations management, works procurement management, contract administration & management, investment appraisal, and management of the development process.

Direct Applicants
All candidates who attained 'Member' of UIPE before the commencement of the UIPE/ERB Joint Assessment Committee (JAC) are required to submit a Technical Report and Career Report plus attending a Board Interview. In addition they apply for registration by filling ERB Form ERA 1, and attaching copies of certificates for the Board's processing of the documentation.
